Late 1990s (1999)

The Beginning — A Humble Start

Hailing from a village, Dr. Srinivas Proddutoori entered the pharmaceutical space in 1999 with a single retail medical store. What began as a small step soon evolved into a purposeful journey built on discipline, trust, and service.

Early 2000s (2000 – 2008)

Building Retail Foundations

Between 2000 and 2008, he expanded his presence by establishing multiple retail pharmacies, many of which were strategically located near hospitals — including major institutions such as MNJ Cancer Hospital.

This proximity to hospitals allowed him to closely understand patient journeys, treatment realities, and the everyday challenges in accessing medicines.

Learning Beyond Business

Driven by a desire to deeply understand the pharmaceutical ecosystem, he pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) in the early 2000s. This step was not just academic — it reflected his intent to understand the intricacies of drugs, formulations, and the broader healthcare landscape.

Mid-2000s (2008-2021)

Transition into Distribution

In 2008, after witnessing the difficulties patients faced in procuring oncology and critical care medicines, he stepped into pharmaceutical distribution.

This marked a defining shift — from retail to a larger mission of improving accessibility, ensuring authenticity, and building a reliable supply chain for life-saving medicines.

Recognition & Contribution

In 2016, he was conferred with a Doctorate in Social Services in recognition of his contributions to society — a testament to his commitment beyond business, towards community and impact.

Expanding Industry Understanding

In 2019, he further expanded his vision by venturing into pharmaceutical marketing. This move allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the industry’s depth and reach across India — strengthening his perspective across the entire pharmaceutical value chain.

A Defining Transition

In 2021, the next generation stepped in, with Kiran Proddutoori entering the organisation and bringing a broader vision — to evolve Bhuvaneshwari Speciality Drugs into a more structured, ecosystem-driven healthcare organisation.

However, in May 2021, just a few months into this new chapter, the organisation faced an irreplaceable loss with the passing of its founder, Dr. Srinivas Proddutoori.

Dr. Srinivas Proddutoori built more than an organisation — he built a foundation of trust, integrity, and responsibility.

His journey from a single retail store to a respected name in speciality medicine distribution reflects a life dedicated to service.

Next-Generation Leadership

Representing the next generation, Kiran Proddutoori carries forward this legacy with a vision to build on the strong foundation laid by his father while adapting to the evolving healthcare landscape.

Kiran pursued his MBA, completing it in 2018, and was recognised early on for his innovative thinking — receiving an award for Best Ideation in Healthcare (Medical Tourism) in 2017.

Between 2019 and 2021, he worked within the pharmaceutical industry, gaining exposure to the broader Indian pharmaceutical ecosystem — including operations, market dynamics, and industry structure. This experience helped shape his perspective before formally stepping into the family business.

In 2021, Kiran began shaping Bhuvaneshwari Speciality Drugs into a more organised, scalable, and ecosystem-driven organisation — expanding its role beyond traditional distribution.

A New Direction — Beyond Continuity

In the year 2021, following the passing of the founder, he established the Bhuvaneshwari Foundation — as a tribute to his father’s values and vision.

The foundation reflects a continued commitment to society, focusing on creating meaningful impact in healthcare — particularly in improving awareness, accessibility, and support for patients in need. It stands as an extension of the founder’s belief that healthcare is not just a business, but a responsibility.

Under his leadership, the organisation is focused on:
